ENGLISH

English is essential in today's globalized world. It not only enables effective communication internationally, but also provides job and academic opportunities, and facilitates access to different resources and cultures.

Modalities

On campus: Classes developed at our campus on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Classes have the following schedules: 07:00 - 09:00, 09:00 - 11:00, 11:00 - 13:00, 13:00 - 15:00, 15:00 - 17:00, 17:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 21:00.

Online: The learning components are developed entirely by the use of multimedia interactive technologies and virtual learning environments. Classes are held virtually on Saturdays or Sundays from 08:00 - 17:00.

Hybrid: It is the combination of online and on campus modalities. The content is managed through platforms that encourage autonomous work. In addition, students can access online tutoring. On Fridays, it is mandatory for students to take evaluations at the university campus.

Levels

Our English courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, ensuring a consistent approach and measurable progress in students' language skills.

The UTA Courses offer the following levels:

A1 BEGINNER

A2 ELEMENTAL

B1 PRE-INTERMEDIATE

B1+ INTERMEDIATE

B2 UPPER INTERMEDIATE

How many levels should I take?

The levels that students must take, for any of the languages offered at the Language Center, will depend on the academic period in which they have enrolled in a degree at Technical University of Ambato. To check the levels and periods, click on the following link.

Which language should I study?

The language that students must take will depend on the graduation requirements for learning the second language and regulations at Technical University of Ambato. To check the languages approved for different faculties or degrees, click on the following link.

Requirements

For A1, A2 y B1 levels:

Being legally enrolled in a degree at Technical University of Ambato.

Pay the fees established by Technical University of Ambato. (For students who are taking the level for a 2nd or 3rd time)

For the B1+ level

B1 level students of the UTA Courses who would like to take the B1+ level must have a minimum score of 8.0/10.0 points in the B1 level.
 

For the B2 level

B1+ level students od the UTA Courses who would like to take the B2 level must have a minimum score of 7.5/10 points in the B1+ level.
